AAT Level 4 is a critical qualification for those looking to specialise in financial management or become chartered accountants.

The AAT Level 4 Personal Tax module develops advanced knowledge of the UK personal taxation system and its practical application. Learners gain the skills to accurately calculate personal tax liabilities and understand how individuals can legally reduce their overall tax exposure. The course covers Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, alongside residency rules and ethical considerations. As an optional unit within the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting, it is ideal for those working in, or aspiring to progress into, tax or accountancy roles.

This unit contributes towards completion of the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting and progression to Chartered accountancy qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA.

Assessment

Computer-based exam with a Pass mark of 70%. The exam consists of scenario based questions to test practical application.
